Program Innovation
Founder, CEO, Head of School
Having experienced success in the education field, I was encouraged to start a school to meet the needs of children who are not well served in today’s educational environment. Weaving together years of research and breakthroughs in brain science with the long-standing wisdom of raising thriving children, I implemented my vision for a common sense education. The school grew as we delivered quality education for children with learning differences and families who strive to support their children in the least restrictive and most nurturing environment.
Starting with 5 children in a pop-up facility on a girl scout campground, Caulbridge School soon found a permanent home on a beautiful expansive campus to grow to a premier TK-8th grade private school. In a few short years, the school went from 5 students in 1,500 sq ft space and play yard to 138 students in 25,000 sq ft with expansive outdoor classrooms, play yards and gardens on several hundred acres. I served as head of school for 9 years until 2024.
Founder and Executive Director, Caring About Kids
Once a completely volunteer community effort, in four years the organization grew to $1.2m budget, trained 2,500 volunteers, engaged 128 youth-serving organizations and 64 referral agencies that provided thousands of hours to over 1,500 children every week throughout Placer County.
Founder and Initial Executive Director
I launched Placer County CASA program which required following a national model for certification yet adapting the implementation to meet the local county needs. Program development included securing funds, developing partnerships with children’s services and the courts to implement the program, recruiting and training volunteers, managing caseload of children assigned an advocate, and community outreach.
Annual Community Partner Summit
The rise in childhood disorders is unstoppable – psychological, emotional, behavioral, social and learning disorders. Childhood trauma is overtaking this generation, and no one is immune. As with any crisis, it takes a focused, intentional response and all-hands-on-deck!
I launched and hosted the Annual Community Partner Summit for medical and mental health practitioners, school placement professionals and youth development leaders. The summit included a short informational presentation along with a collaboration and networking opportunity. By year 3, participation had grown to 60 people representing much of the North Bay region.
